Epcot Center - Around the World (in Beer): France

Note: This is part 8 in a series documenting the countries of Epcot Center and the beers they serve.

This is where things start getting fuzzy.

We moved from Morocco to FranceThis area of Epcot is smaller as the space seems more cramped and France really consisted of a gift shop and a few bakeries.  There weren't too many attractions for France besides Beauty and the Beast.  It didn't, now it was about checking off the box and saying I had been to France and drank their beer.  This was also the last stop before going to "Soaring" (we had gotten our fast pass at 11AM for the 4:30PM line), one of the newer motion rides at Epcot.

The ride was great - these 4-D rides have come a long way since Star Tours and Body Wars (barf!).  Soaring was smooth and immersive as the screen you are watching are ginormous and really puts you into the environment.  The mechanics of the motion machine are smooth and you will hardly feel sick.  This is definitely one of the best rides at Epcot.
I didn't even get sick after the Kronenbourg 1664 I had in France.

The food stand in France had Grand Marnier frosties and Kronenbourg 1664 beer.  We got one of each.  The Grand Marnier frosty was more like orange slush with hardly any liquor in it.  It was refreshing for a hot day but at 8 bucks a pop, not worth it for what you get.

I could probably say the same for the Kronenbourg; the French clearly are not known for their beer, even though for this one, they are using "Strisselspalt" hops, the "caviar of hops" (link).  If this is indicative of the caviar of hops, I don't think I like caviar since this beer pretty much is as bad as the Moroccan beer, Casa.

Being bland and light, the Kronenbourg doesn't provide anything new to the palate, but seems to exist solely to have something different when you are sick of wine.  After drinking this beer, you will be ready for more wine because this beer stinks!  But it was good to start winding down after going 3/4 the way around the world.
